If you didn’t know, this week is officially wool week (The Campaign for Wool) in the UK. I love using pure wool yarn, especially chunky or rough and rustic for knitting animals and creatures. I took some lovely wool (including cornish organic wool and colinette) on holiday. While away I started on a new design for a knitted rabbit, now finished (photo below). But wool doesn’t just come in yarn form it can also be woven and felted. I use pure wool felt in some of my jewellery, and wool/wool mix tweed for my “tweedy rabbits“.
Hi Madeline, I love knittng and crocheting with wool and wool mixes. I am loving Aran weight and chunky at the moment. I meant to do a post on wool week on my blog, but it slipped my mind! Hope you had a good break. Bee x
Hi,
your knitting and crochet work is so lovely. Can’t wait to see your blog post about the new things you’ve been making x
Hi,
Your rabbit looks lovely and your wool animals are very cute.
I do some knitting and crochet as well and am learning to clean a whole “sheep” so that I can spin the wool it later.
Thanks for posting on my blog. x Adelina
Thanks for your kind words Adelina. Wow spinning your own wool that sounds great!
