This year it is my intention to buy the majority of my Christmas presents from independent artisans and makers. There are many opportunities, particularly at this time of year, to get out and buy handmade and there are a range of events to suit many tastes. A good place to find fairs is on ukhandmade‘s events page.  However, if you can’t make it to these events there’s no excuse not to buy handmade because there are also a number of interesting online market places. Etsy features artists from all over the world, Madebyhandonline is home to contemporary craft from Britain and Ireland and Folksy has a wide range of UK makers, to name but a few.
Last week I had a stall at the first of Handmade Kenilworth‘s festive fairs and I also took the opportunity to buy some pressies. You can find a list of exhibitors here. Here are a few of my photos of the day (click on images to enlarge).
Today was the first Bearwood Handmade Winter fair and I popped along and bought some gifts. I’ll be having a stall at the second of these fairs on 3rd of December.
