I am currently rather preoccupied with sheds! A couple of years ago I received Shed Chic by Sally Coulthard as a birthday pressie and over this time I have spent many hours pouring over the pages dreaming of my very own shed(s). How lovely to relax in sheds like these below.

I have been planning to construct a new allotment shed for some time. When I took on the allotment I was quite pleased to inherit a substantial shed that included a store and potting area. However, it was on it’s last legs and over the years, although looking very rustic, it had become a bit of a hazard and not at all useful. This week, prompted by the fine weather, we finally got round to dismantling this old shed and we’re nearly ready to put up the ‘new’ one, kindly donated by a friend. I want the new shed to be more of a relaxing space rather than storage as we do have a small tin shed that hold most of the tools. I’ve got lots of left over paint that I’ll use to decorate it with and also some odd bits of furniture that might make their way in.

The other shed that I am planning is a garden studio. I currently use the downstairs front room as a work space but this is far from ideal as it is meant to be a functioning living and dining room. Most of my materials and equipment are stored elsewhere as there just isn’t the space in this room. With increasing orders and the need to be just more organised I am going to have to make some space outside the house, so a shed it is! (albeit one with insulation and electrics).
