Earlier this week I went on a day trip to Bath. I met up with a dear friend and we spent the day mooching round the many independent shops and enjoying the atmospheric character of this historic city that was heightened by the misty Autumn weather.

For me the day started with the journey. I was captivated by the subtle colours of the countryside as I sped along in the train.
There are so many interesting shops in Bath but we only had time to visit some of them including Topping & Company Booksellers, The Fine Cheese Co and Shannon (pictured below).

One of my favourite finds of the day was Susannah, a magical treasure trove of vintage and antique clothes, furniture and bric-a-brac.

There is still so much I want to see in Bath and I can’t wait to return. Perhaps next time I will stay a little longer.
