Last week the whole family (and my mum) went on holiday to York. We stayed in a little cabin by a lake just on the edge of York. We had the freedom and space of a rural setting and the convenience of being by the city. This was the first time the children had visited York and Yorkshire and we explored both the countryside and the city (I’ll share some of my pics from the city in a later post).

The cabin was by the side of a small lake and we were able to walk around the lake, enjoying the pretty surroundings and observing the wildlife.

We went out and about exploring local forests, woodland and moors on a couple of days. The countryside was brimming over with wildflowers.
