This is my second post about our holiday in York and Yorkshire. The first post was about the rural aspects of the holiday and this one is about the city.
I first went to York when I was about 10 years old and hadn’t been for some time. It was great to revisit the city and see it with my own children. We spent quite a bit of time looking round the Minster. I am always awe inspired by cathedrals, the fact that these ancient buildings are still standing (I was once got very scared as a child in Lincloln cathedral when I was told how old it was!)

There are lots of independent shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants in York.

Some that we popped in were the Mermaid & Miller gallery, the Image gallery, (one of my stockists) and Maud and Tommy where my mum bought me a pretty dress by Patchouli Fair as a birthday pressie. Near to our cabin was the very sweet Love to Eat that as well as serving yummy food also sold hand made and vintage items and hosted crafting events (my sort of place). We bought delicious bread and pastries from Manion & Co and enjoyed decadent hot chocolates at the York Cocoa House.
