A couple of weeks ago I went on a mini vacation to sunny Devon. The main reason for my visit was to catch up with my big sis who lives in Exeter. I haven’t seen her properly for so long and hadn’t been down to Exeter for 4 years, gosh! I also wanted to check out some of the vintage and handmade shops, galleries and markets in the area.
The visit really was a bit of a treat for me as I got to mooch around lots of lovely places. On the day I arrived me, my sister and niece tripped on down to Arrietty to take part in an alterations workhop. I was rather pleased with my re-made t-shirt. Arrietty is my kind of shop – filled with wonderful vintage haberdashery, fabrics and handmade goodies.

On friday we took a train journey along the very scenic route to Totnes. Here I made quite a few purchases of vintage clothes, nick-nacks and supplies. We also had a delicious lunch at the vegetarian cafe, Willow
On Saturday I had a proper look around Exeter. I returned to Arrietty where I bought some gorgeous vintage fabrics and trims and among other places I also popped in to Good Golly Miss Molly:craft emporium, stockist of some lovely hand made and British designed items.
My niece and nephew have just completed  an art foundation course and BA respectively and have some of their work exhibited in Exeter. I know you might think I’m biassed because I’m their Aunty but they are rather talented!
I had such a good time catching up with my sister and her family, hope to see them all again soon.
