Ah, the Spring. It seems to have been a long time coming this year but this Easter weekend the sun came out and Spring has truly sprung.
I do like to celebrate the changing seasons and Spring is always a special time for me. It’s the time of new beginnings and new life, both my children are spring babies.
The house gets adorned with some Spring decorations, but this is a much more easy going procedure than putting up the multitude of Christmas decs.
I try and make a few gifts for people and this year I baked and decorated some cookies….
….made some Easter chocolate bark….
….and made some quick and easy cards.
Traditional seasonal foods and feasting are always part of our celebrations. I made some hot cross buns….
….and my mum came over on Saturday for lunch.
I had been wanting to make a rhubarb meringue pie for a while and this Spring lunch seemed like the right occasion, although the rhubarb was last year’s out the freezer, as the rhubarb on the allotment isn’t ready yet.
We tootled down to the local park on Sunday where the daffodils were in full bloom.
On Monday we went to a friend’s house for an egg hunt, oh what a lovely sunny day for it!
I’m just so happy it’s Spring!
