We didn’t go away for a vacation this summer, instead we made some time to explore our local area and discover places close to home.
The first place we visited was a section of the Droitwich Canal. My mum lives in Droitwich and we took a leisurely stroll from there to Salwarpe.
Although it was still August when we were out and about there were many signs of Autumn along the towpath.
We had a day at Kinver Edge, walking and visiting the rock houses. This is somewhere I had always wanted to go and never had, despite having lived close by all my life.
Uffmoor Wood is somewhere else I had never been, a quiet, leafy haven just a short drive away.
Our last expedition was literally just down the road. We walked a little bit of the Birmingham Old Mainline Canal.
I’m so glad we got to explore these close to home places and I think they will become regular haunts.
