gifts of inspiration
I had some wonderfully inspiring and interesting Christmas gifts from my friends and family. My sister gave me many lovely things including vintage fabric remnants, lace, ribbons, mohair yarn and some silver wire. I just can’t wait to use these things in some new creations for this new year.

vintage lace doily cushion covers
I have made some cushion covers from remnants of woolen fabric, lace and vintage lace doilies. They are in a range of shapes and sizes. These and other meeni creations are for sale in my Etsy Shop.
My daughter said the doilies and lace looked like snowflakes on this cover so I have called it a ‘snowflake’ cushion cover. Because the doily and lace are very delicate I have hand stiched them to the woolen fabric. There are two seams around it and a scalloped, raw edge cut with pinking shears. It measures approx. 45cm x 45cm.
This ‘square and two lines’ cover has seams on the inside and the lace and doily are machine stitched on to the woolen fabric. It measures approx. 53cm x 35cm.
This ‘large doily’ cover has two seams around it and a scalloped, raw edge cut with pinking shears. The delicate doilies are hand stitched to the woolen fabric. It measures approx. 53cm x 53cm.
